Full packing services are when we send one of our crews out to your home in the days leading up to your planned moving date. Murphy crews are experienced with packing household items of all sizes and types. Let it be our job to take the stress out of packing all your home’s contents, including all your collectibles, dishes, electronics, mirrors, mattresses. If you have not moved in a long time, you might be surprised how much accumulates.
Having our team of experienced packers lend a hand is something we’re happy to arrange. Our goal is to help make your move as stress-free as possible. While we’re performing your free in-home estimate (or Virtual Survey), we’ll discuss which rooms and items you plan on packing yourself.
When it comes to moving your more fragile household goods, some items may need to be crated before movers load it on the truck. Your Murphy estimator will talk with you about special handling for large mirrors, artwork, glass tabletops, and antiques. Large items may also include treadmills, trampolines, gym equipment, washer/dryers, and refrigerators. Before your move, be sure to speak with your estimator about large items that you plan on taking with you. When you choose Murphy to relocate these items, we handle arrangements for you so you have less to worry about come moving day.
Wall-mounted televisions and other electronics can be carefully disassembled and packed before the movers arrive for moving day and then reassembled in your new home.
We recommend that you start unpacking as soon as possible. Be sure to remove all packing materials and then flatten each box. Unpacking soon after your move helps you verify all items are where they should be and prevent any small items from being tossed out with the trash. We offer unpacking services as an option for all our moves.
If you choose to have us help unpack, we’ll remove each item from the boxes and carefully place them on a flat surface nearby. For example, if we are unpacking your kitchenware, we’ll place items on a counter or your kitchen table. If we are unpacking your bedroom boxes, we’ll look to place items on a dresser.

We were very fortunate to find Murphy Moving and Storage for our complicated relocation that also required storage. Geraldine, Kyla and Beto and his team of movers were all very personable and professional. They maintained excellent communication with us throughout our moving process. They made a very stressful situation pleasant and enjoyable. We felt so comfortable with Geraldine when she visited our home for the inventory and offered suggestions and encouragement for preparing to move. Kyla was in frequent communication and so patient with editing my changing inventory and arranging a schedule for pick up. Beto and his team of movers were friendly while remaining focused on their individual tasks and their teamwork was remarkable. They wrapped each piece of furniture so well and treated each piece of furniture and every carton as if it were a precious jewel, not to mention how well they arranged the pieces for safe transportation in the moving van. Best movers! Moved me 7/8/22. Lisa was fantastic, communication top notch, this company has a great team! My movers were with Murphy Moving out of S. Windsor Ct moved me in state, these two guys were awesome x10 got to work right away, no damage anywhere, really did more than they should have. Really, really good.
